Beirut - Two days of anti-US protests in Lebanon have shown that the rage that once prompted the killings and kidnappings of Americans in Beirut still smoulders.

Thousands of Lebanese thronged the streets of the capital on Thursday and yesterday to denounce what many see as US bias towards Israel, occupying parts of southern Lebanon since 1978.
