Geneva - Key international Red Cross member-states recommended yesterday adopting a neutral symbol acceptable to the Jewish world to bring an end to Israel's 50year exclusion.

The United States, Iran and Egypt were among countries to recommend a third protective emblem in the form of a red diamond that could also bear symbols such as Israel's Star of David - which is not recognised as a mark of protection in war zones.
