TORONTO - Police and military crews using boats and helicopters successfully concluded their rescue yesterday of hundreds of anglers trapped on ice floes on Lake Simcoe, about 70 km north of Toronto.

But some remained on the ice, refusing help, police said. "There were some that wanted to keep fishing," a York Region police spokesman said.
