An Taisce has withdrawn an appeal it had lodged over planning approval for a renewable power plant at the former Asahi textile plant in north Co Mayo.
An Taisce chairman Charles Stanley-Smith confirmed last night that the appeal had been withdrawn from An Bord Pleanála following agreement with the developer. He said the developer, Mayo Renewable Power, would lodge a protocol with Mayo County Council to ensure sustainability of a local source of biomass under the agreement.
