CHRISTMAS TREES and decorations will go on sale in Brown Thomas stores throughout the country this week.
Brown Thomas in Cork will be opening its Christmas section today, while the Christmas section in Brown Thomas, Dublin will be opening tomorrow. A spokeswoman for Brown Thomas said the Christmas department in Cork, Dublin and Limerick stores had opened at the start of September for the past few years.
"From experience we know that this opening date is very popular with our customers, especially those who wish to get first option on all product ranges, as well as those who wish to be organised in advance of the traditional Christmas rush," she said.
Dublin department store Clerys will be opening their Christmas department on September 13th, which is later than last year.
Arnotts will not be following suit, however. Spokeswoman Tania Meighan said: "We don't open our Christmas section until October 23rd, as that's when customers begin getting excited about the festive season and start to look for decorations."
