London - Doctors yesterday warned against alternative therapies as the sole means of medical treatment after figures showed that complementary medical practitioners now outnumber GPs in the UK.

Recent British Medical Association figures show there are 36,300 GPs compared to about 40,000 people offering complementary medicine, according to a report commissioned by the Department of Health in October.
