Comhdail Naisuinta an Gaeilge has said that the next government as a matter of urgency must set up an education authority for Gaeltacht and all Irish schools.

A spokesman said yesterday that advisory committees, as proposed by the Education Bill, were not sufficient to deal with the problems of Irish medium schools, which lack a suitable range of textbooks, suitable syllabi and other relevant support services.
