An Albanian man suspected of torching a plane at Glasgow airport more than three years ago will appear in court today.

The man (35) was arrested under warrant in relation to an attempted fire attack in January 2005.

The BMI 49-seater aircraft was set alight at Glasgow Airport around 4am on January 22nd by an intruder who is thought to have scaled a security fence to get on to the runway.

Nobody was injured, but the empty aircraft suffered minor damage to a rear window.

It is understood the man had been living in Ireland before his arrest.
