The CIA captured a suspected senior al-Qaeda figure, the Pentagon said today.
US officials claim Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi commanded the group's paramilitary operations in Afghanistan and launched attacks on US forces from Pakistan
The CIA transferred al-Iraqi, also accused of assassination plots against Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and United Nations officials, into Pentagon custody this week.
He is being held at the US military prison at Guantanamo Bay.
