A heating unit that malfunctioned in the departure area of Dublin Airport caused the evacuation of up to 300 people yesterday. The heater in Pier B, the holding area for people travelling through B gates, set off the fire alarms around noon. The area was cleared and three units of the Dublin Fire Brigade went to the airport area. A spokesman said the incident was over in half an hour and there was no disruption to flights.
