MOGADISHU - Somali faction leader Gen Hussein Mohamed Aidid appealed yesterday for food aid to save tens of thousands of people in drought hit Somalia from imminent starvation.
Gen Aidid, in a radio broadcast, said his self styled government would ensure the security of foreign aid workers who volunteer to go to Somalia to help feed the starving people.
