St Michan's Church in Dublin, where vandals set fire to a vault containing mummified remains last year, should receive financial assistance from the Government, according to the Fianna Fail spokeswoman on arts, culture and the Gaeltacht, Ms Sile de Valera.

Today she will call on Minister, Mr Higgins, to provide funds to help in the restoration of the historic church, which has been estimated at £270,000.
