Mr Michael J. Egan, solicitor, Castlebar, who was the Irish agent for the estate of the missing Lord Lucan who has property interests in the area, has died aged 80. He was coroner for West Mayo for the past 37 years.
He originated the idea of the Castlebar International Song Contest and was instrumental in setting up the Castlebar Walking festival.
