Islamabad - The purist Islamic Taleban have changed the name of Afghanistan from the Islamic State of Afghanistan to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, a broadcast on Talebancontrolled radio said yesterday. The change formalises the position as head of state of Mullah Mohammed Omar, who is known as Emir al-Momineen (Leader of the Faithful). - (Reuters)
