Pilots at Aer Lingus have overwhelmingly backed a deal brokered at the Labour Relations Commission which averted industrial action at the airline earlier in the summer, writes Martin Wall.
It is understood that pilots at Aer Lingus bases in the Republic of Ireland and in Washington in the US voted by about 80 per cent in favour of the deal.
The dispute between pilots and management at the company over roster arrangements had threatened to cause serious disruption to services in June.
Aer Lingus pilots at bases in Belfast and Gatwick have also voted in favour of a deal which could have lead to industrial action there.
