Aer Lingus could face a ballot for industrial action by its pilots early next year, the Irish Air Line Pilots' Association has said. The executive of the union's Aer Lingus Local Group has been authorised to ballot the company's 370 pilots.

The union says that the company has failed to conclude a "scope agreement" with the pilots to deal with issues relating to work security.
