The Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union has appointed Mr William Quigley as acting regional secretary for the Republic of Ireland, following the resignation of MrEamon Devoy last week. Mr Quigley is branch secretary of the union in Louth. The Northern Ireland regional secretary, Mr Joe Patterson, is also helping to service members in the Republic.
