Adventure centre canoeists rescued

Six schoolgirls were rescued off the coast of Co Louth after getting into difficulty while canoeing with an adventure centre.

Six schoolgirls were rescued off the coast of Co Louth after getting into difficulty while canoeing with an adventure centre.

Clogher Head RNLI lifeboat was launched at midday yesterday to rescue the party which was about 1km off the coast.

A man from the centre, who had accompanied the girls, was also brought to safety. A strong northwesterly wind was blowing when the incident happened.
