Oscar-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren will share some of her wisdom tonight from a lifetime on the screen with students at Trinity College Dublin.

She is the latest in a growing line of film stars to accept an invitation to speak at the university's Philosophical Society.

Large crowds are expected for the talk in the Graduates' Memorial Building.

Mirren has recently become best known for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 film, The Queen. In a long film career spanning almost four decades, she has also starred in Caligula, Gosford Park, and Calendar Girls.

Mirren is also an accomplished stage actor and has won four Emmy awards for her television work, including for her role in Prime Suspect: The Final Act.
