Actor who played Miss Moneypenny dies

AUSTRALIA: Lois Maxwell, the actor who played the James Bond film character, Miss Moneypenny, has died aged 80.

AUSTRALIA:Lois Maxwell, the actor who played the James Bond film character, Miss Moneypenny, has died aged 80.

The Canadian-born actor was described as "perfectly cast" in her role as the secret service secretary who had a thing for 007.

Maxwell starred in 14 Bond films, playing alongside Sean Connery in the spy's first outing, Dr No, in 1962 and ending with 1985's A View To A Killwith Roger Moore.

Maxwell died on Saturday evening in Fremantle Hospital, western Australia. It is believed that she had moved to Australia to be with her son after being diagnosed with cancer. - ( PA )
