Dave Finnegan, a film actor who played the drummer in The Commitments, denied breach of public order offences when he appeared in the District Court yesterday.
Mr Finnegan (29), of Manor Street, Dublin 7, was arrested last Sunday week in Grafton Street, Dublin, by Garda Declan O'Rourke and charged. with breach of the peace and loitering. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to appear in court the following day. However, Mr Finnegan, who claimed to have been suffering from jet lag, made a new court appointment after contacting gardai.
