A settlement has been reached in an action in which it was alleged AIB was negligent in its handling of an elderly widow's savings of £37,775, the High Court was told yesterday.
Mr Justice Costello approved the settlement reached, without admission of liability, between Ms Kathleen Hughes, who had continued proceedings taken by her late mother, Ms Esther Ward, formerly of De Valera Place, Charleville, Co Cork, and AIB.
