An unemployed Co Tyrone labourer accused of smashing a car window told the RUC he had no recollection of the incident as he had consumed 25 vodkas and six pints of beer.

A solicitor, Mr Paddy Mallon, told Cookstown Mugistrates' Court yesterday that Mr Brian Francis Cullen (23) of North Street Park, Stewartstown, now accepted he had a drink problem and had given up alcohol.
