The 27 year old Co Mayo man who died after his car hit a pillar in heavy fog was Mr Patrick Maloney, a single man from Ballyvary, near Turlough, where the accident happened.
Gardai at Castlebar say the accident occurred on the main Ballvary road at 2.35 a.m. yesterday. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
