Gardai in Salthill, Galway, are investigating complaints of serious sexual crimes allegedly committed by men against underage males in the city. The complaints are understood to have been made by young men now in their late teens, and relate to a period of six or seven years. The alleged perpetrators are middle-aged men.

A spokesman said gardai were liaising with the Western Health Board and that a file would be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
