THE refrain of the old song Thank God We're Surrounded By Water is all very well but it doesn't seem to have encouraged this island nation toe over-endow itself with top-class seafood restaurants. Ristorante Pescatore of St Stephen's Green, which opened this week, aims to remedy this deficiency and hopes its specially commissioned lava rock grill, or pietra lavica, will give it that extra edge.
Proprietor Germano Terrinoni is already well-known for his association with Samanthas, Strings and the Pizza Stop and among old and new friends who arrived to wish the new arrival bon courage were legal eagles Gerald and CIodagh Keane, film censor Sheamus Smith, Lord Henry MountCharles, Senator Maurice Manning and Kevin and Claire Cassidy of Cassidy's Wines.
