Readers who recall our feature on the Gernon family's restaurant, Brock-on-the-Water, in north Tipperary, may like to know that there is now a booklet on places to eat throughout North Tipperary.
Organised by the area's Good Food Circle, it describes 14 diverse establishments, from Peter Ward's Country Choice to Waterman's Lodge, from Gourthalougha to The Grill Room in the Racket Hall Hotel. I would disagree considerably with the rating system which has been used, but otherwise this is a useful introduction to a heretofore neglected area which offers some real gems. It is available from local tourist offices.
