Stuttgart - DaimlerBenz AG said yesterday it would temporarily halt deliveries of its A-class Mercedes model to undertake modifications which will make it safer. A spokesman said the cost of upgrading the car, which flipped over during tests last month, would reduce operating profit by about 100 million marks (£38.5 million) this year.
