BEIJING - Ninety passengers were killed and more than 300 injured yesterday when two passenger trains collided in central south China's Hunan Province, Xinhua reported. More than 1,000 police and medical workers were trying to free trapped passengers, the agency said, adding that at least 90 of the injured were undergoing emergency treatment.

The crash occurred at Rongjiawan Station on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, one of China's railway transport arteries.
