A guitarist and council worker, who lost a finger nail while working on a compacting machine, has been awarded £9,500 damages in the Circuit Civil Court.

Mr Anthony Barr, counsel for Mr David Govan (47), "Shelmalier Road, East Wall, Dublin, said Dublin County Council had conceded liability.

Mr Govan had been working on a compactor at the rear of a lorry and when the lorry moved suddenly his finger became trapped.
