A total of 806 motorists were arrested for drink-driving past fortnight, Garda figures released today show.

Some 411 arrests were made between February 26 thand March 4 th, while 395 people were detained the previous week.
The Garda said today "enforcement activities in this area of road safety will continue to be prioritised".
Random breath testing was introduced last July.
There was a 28 per cent reduction in road fatalities from July to December, and an overall reduction of 8 per cent in road fatalities for the whole year. In 2006, some 368 people were killed in road crashes.
