Gardai in Limerick have seized €750,00 of cannabis.

The drugs were recovered in a planned search of an open area at Rathkeale yesterday. The stash included 98 kilograms of cannabis resin and two kilograms of cannabis herb which have been sent for forensic analysis.

The results of the tests are expected to confirm the value of the drugs believed by gardai to be in the region of €750,000.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing, according to a Garda spokesman. "The search operation was coordinated by members of the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit," he said.
