Customs officers have seized some 7,500 bottles of wine which they claim were smuggled into the State from France. They valued the haul at £30,000 and said two men were being questioned and a file was being prepared for the DPP. The Revenue Commissioners yesterday said 6,300 bottles, stored in a warehouse in north Dublin, were seized, along with "false documentation". Officers in Galway seized 1,200 bottles of wine in the Salthill area in a co-ordinated operation.
