Over 650 people were arrested on suspicion of drink-driving over the Christmas period.
A total of 301 people were arrested for the offence in the final week of last year, according to Garda statistics.
The detections took place between December 24th and December 30th.
The previous week, 357 incidents of drink-driving were recorded.
