A Tyrone man paralysed from the waist down after a road crash has been awarded £650,000 in the High Court in Belfast.

A Tyrone man paralysed from the waist down after a road crash has been awarded £650,000 in the High Court in Belfast.

Mr John Stephen Cairns (25), of The Square, Moy, Co Tyrone, was a passenger in a vehicle which overturned in October 1993.

His spine was fractured and he now uses a wheelchair.

He sued the driver, Mr Euan Jeremy Morrow, from Charlemont Street, Moy, and the Motor Insurers Bureau.

The case was settled out of court.
