53 injured in gas explosion

Paris - An explosion, apparently caused by leaking gas, rocked a seven-floor apartment block in Paris yesterday, injuring 53 people, two of them seriously, rescue workers said. Forty-six people were taken to hospital near the apartment in the 15th arrondissement, in the south-west of Paris.
