The Health Minister, Mr Christos Solomis, said those who died were almost all elderly, and he issued a warning to residents, children and older people to avoid going out in the sun. Meanwhile, the British army evacuated service families from around 100 homes in one of its Cyprus bases yesterday as a brush fire raged out of control.
