Three raiders in balaclavas got away with about £5,000 in cash from a post office in Galway city yesterday. The gang struck shortly after a Garda protected cash drop at the Westside post office.

One member was armed with a sawn off double barrelled shotgun. The raiders got away in a silver Rover car. Gardai believe the gang may have been involved in robberies on filling stations in the area in recent weeks.
