£48,800 for film poster

London - A promotional poster for the classic 1942 film, Casablanca, was sold for £48,800 at Sothebys yesterday, a UK auction record for a film poster. The film starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman and featured the song, As Time Goes By. The 2m by 2m linen-backed sheet, one of only two known to exist, was bought by Mr Andrew Cohen, the millionaire chairman of door-to-door housewares retailer, Betterware.
