New Delhi - About 40 people are believed to have died yesterday when a crowded bus was swept away while crossing a flooded river in eastern India, the Press Trust of India (PTI) said. The accident occurred in the Giridih district of Bihar state while the bus was crossing the monsoon-swollen Usri river. Witnesses said they believed 70 people could have died. - (Reuter)
