Teagasc training services during 1996 attracted 4,200 young people to its Certificate in Farming programme

Teagasc training services during 1996 attracted 4,200 young people to its Certificate in Farming programme. More than 95 per cent of young farmers are availing of its vocational training. Some 2,000 farmers attended continuing training courses last year and 1,500 women attended courses, mainly on management, business accounts and EU schemes.

A new advanced programme - the Diploma in Farming - was successfully launched last year.
