SOME £3 million is to be spent in upgrading two temporary sites for travellers in Clondalkin, Co Dublin

SOME £3 million is to be spent in upgrading two temporary sites for travellers in Clondalkin, Co Dublin. The improvements to the sites at Lynch's Lane and Deansrath will take 18 months.

But South Dublin County Council warned that unless a network of sites is developed quickly on a national basis, South Dublin is faced "with an impossible task" in providing for the 219 families in need of accommodation, an increase of 74 over the last 12 months.
