37 killed in Mexico truck explosion

Thirty-seven people were killed when a truck carrying explosives crashed into another truck in Mexico, it was reported today.

About 150 people were injured by the blast, which left a crater of up to 65 feet (20 metres) in diameter in the road in the northern state of Coahuila, the El Universaldaily reported.

Most of the dead had rushed to the crash and were killed when the truck exploded, the paper said.

Coahuila is a mining state where explosives are used in the coal industry.
