Diplomas in police studies were presented to 335 students at the Garda College, Templemore, yesterday by the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Peter Fitzgerald.
Garda Ronan Murphy, of Rathmines Garda station, Dublin, won the Student of the Year award. The Duais Bhord na Gaeilge award went to Garda Carol O'Leary, of Harcourt Terrace station, Dublin, for being the most outstanding student in the Irish language.
