Three Co Antrim men were charged in Belfast yesterday with blackmailing a man on behalf of the UVF.

Three Co Antrim men were charged in Belfast yesterday with blackmailing a man on behalf of the UVF.

Mr William Sloan (35), from Larne Street, Ballymena; Mr Jonathan Bones (18), from Ardnamaine, Cullybackey, and Mr Clifford White (27), from Crosshill View, Kells, were charged with demanding £10,000 for the UVF from a contractor in the Ballymena area and attempting to collect money for a proscribed organisation. They were remanded in custody until July 26th.
