WASHINGTON - President Clinton signed a $265

WASHINGTON - President Clinton signed a $265.6 billion defence spending bill for the fiscal year beginning on October 1st, accepting the addition by Congress of $11 billion more than he had requested.

The bill includes funding for the dismantling of Russian nuclear weapons and for modernisation of US weapons systems.
