A 10-year programme to fight child poverty has been proposed by the Combat Poverty Agency

A 10-year programme to fight child poverty has been proposed by the Combat Poverty Agency. In a submission to the Government on a National Children's Strategy, the agency calls for a universal child benefit of £25 a week.

The cost of this and other measures would be £500 million a year, the agency says.
