More than 200 Limerick motorists face £50 speeding fines after their cars were logged by the new Garda surveillance system, introduced in the area at the weekend. Insp. Seamus Gallagher said that in the two-day operation, vehicles were recorded doing 70 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h. zone and others were driving in excess of 80 m.p.h. in a 60 m.p.h. zone.
