Gardai in Cork last night seized £200,000 worth of cannabis when they intercepted a car on the western approaches to the city. The male driver of the car was arrested.
The seizure is regarded as a considerable success and is understood to have been the result of a major surveillance operation involving the Cork Drugs Squad, the National Drugs Team and a special Garda unit involved in drugs surveillance operations.
