€2.6m of Cannabis seized in Dublin

Drugs valued at more than €2

Drugs valued at more than €2.5 million have been seized in Dublin today in an operation involving gardaí and Revenue Customs officials.

More than 200kg of cannabis herb and resin was uncovered in an industrial unit in Ballymount this afternoon.

The joint operation was intelligence based and targeted a Dublin-based organised crime group, a Revenue spokeswoman said.

The consignment had arrived at Dublin Port from the Netherlands.

A Garda spokesman said no arrests had been made and that the investigation was ongoing.
